Had an 80 w 403 had a crane fireball 2. Very streeetable and had the best sounding idle i have heard then or since.

Had the 64 convertible back in the day, I bought it with the 389 tri-power, knowing it was on its last leg, ripped it out and put a Chevy 327 -375HP 4 bolt main. Man did I have fun with it. Gas was 50 cent a gallon back then. Back then could of never imagined what in yours.

I bought one used in '65 . Mine was burgundy and originally a 390. Most expensive car I ever had. In 13 months I destroyed 3 T-10 Borg Warner 4 speeds before finding a Ford 4 speed that didn't destroy the 3rd gear syncronizers, 5 rear ends as I changed rear ends depending on if I wanted speed or drag. Lost count of U joints as I was running 7 inch cheater slicks and the torque was monstrous. Never another FE big block like the 427. I redlined it at 7,000. .

They didn't put a 427 cu in stock in a 1963 until the 1963 1/2 model. The Square back 1963 you could on it get a 406 cu in. Stock.
